Coffee Huller

The Coffee Threshing Process at Finca El Paraíso: A Path to Perfection. The threshing process is a crucial stage in specialty coffee production, as it is where the true potential of each bean begins to be unleashed. At Finca El Paraíso, we have adopted cutting-edge technology to ensure that every coffee bean we produce goes through an efficient and precise process, with the goal of obtaining a final product of the highest quality.

Hulling

The threshing process begins with the PA-DESC/400 Conjugate Thresher with PA-PERG/400 Husker, a machine that plays a fundamental role in separating the husk from the coffee bean. This operation is essential for obtaining clean, impurity-free ground coffee. The efficiency of this machine reaches 96%, ensuring a fast and precise separation process. The bucket elevator transport system transports the parchment coffee to the threshing machine, where the dried husk is removed, leaving the bean ready for the next stage of the process.

Grading and Sorting

Once the clean grain is obtained, it's time to grade it to ensure only the best grains reach the next stage. To do this, we use the PA PORTO I/2x1/4P Size Sorter, which segments the grains by size using a set of sieves. This step is essential to ensure that grains of uniform size continue in the process without interference. The grains are then sent to the PA-MSD/1 Density Tables, where they are separated by density. This process eliminates any defective grains, ensuring that only the highest quality grains continue the selection process.

Color Sorting

The final stage of our milling process is Color Sorting. We use the Laufer Vision Gottin Z4 Color Sorter, equipped with artificial intelligence and neural networks, to detect and eliminate color defects in the beans. This high-precision system ensures that broken, red, or blemished beans are discarded, leaving only perfect coffee beans. The technology used in this machine continually improves through feedback, allowing for more accurate predictive analysis over time.
